comidea is a free comedy writing app for standup comedians. It models the real comedy writing workflow: idea, joke, set. Capture ideas the moment they hit, develop them into polished jokes with a full editor, then assemble jokes into performance sets. Everything runs in your browser — no account needed, no data leaves your device unless you choose to sync.

How it works

Capture — jot down raw ideas whenever inspiration strikes. A quick-capture bar lets you save a thought in seconds without interrupting your flow. Ideas appear as cards in a masonry grid that you can browse, search, and reorder by dragging.

Develop — promote an idea to a joke when you are ready to write. The full editor supports bold, italic, font sizing, strikethrough, highlight, blockquote, ordered and unordered lists, and links. Rate each joke from zero to five stars with half-star precision so you can track which bits are working.

Build sets — create a set note and drag jokes into it to assemble your lineup for a show. The set builder calculates duration based on words per minute so you know exactly how long your set will run. Reorder jokes inside the set by dragging until the flow feels right.
